The Late Dr. Charles E. Hawthorne

Dr. Charles E. Hawthorne was an anointed preacher, teacher, writer and counselor who dedicated his life to making a qualitative difference in the lives of people through the supernatural power of God’s Word.

Called to the kingdom for such a time as this, this man of God prepared himself to serve his generation by the will of God. His academic preparation resulted in the reception of a B.A. degree in Sociology, a M.A. degree in Guidance and Counseling, and a PhD degree in Biblical Counseling. His ministerial preparation resulted in him being licensed as a minister, ordained as an elder, and appointed as a pastor.

A church planter, organizer and overseer, he regarded himself as a servant sent by God to serve his local church, his denomination and the body of Christ at large. From the beginning of his ministry in 1975, God used him to minister to thousands of people from a wide variety of church backgrounds. Pastor Hawthorne experienced much success in taking the gospel to young people on college campuses across the State of Michigan and other parts of the nation. His heartbeat, however, was the local church, which he sees as God’s end-time vehicle for administering the balm that can bring about the healing of sin-sick souls.
Dr. Hawthorne; a husband, father, and visionary leader who served as the President and CEO of Hawthorne Ministries. It is through this urban missions organization that he sought to extend ministry beyond his own local church to other churches here in America and abroad. His passion was to see the proclamation of the Word bring about restoration in individuals, reformation in the church and transformation in our society.

Pastor Hawthorne went from labor to reward November 1, 2021 and has left a lasting legacy for many generations to come.

Lead Pastor Donna Hawthorne

Evangelist Missionary Donna Hawthorne was born into a Christian home in Tallahassee, Florida. She attended Washtenaw Community College and graduated with an Associates Degree as a Medical Office Specialist. Later she attended Eastern Michigan University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child & Family Development with a minor in Child Care Services.
