A Labor Of Love Bible Study Prepared by Pastor C. E. Hawthorne
Scripture Text: Proverbs 29:18
INTRODUCTION
Think about what your life would be like, if you had no eyes to see. To make progress in life, you need to have vision. You need to see where you are going. This is true in the natural as well as the spiritual.
With natural eyes come natural vision. But with spiritual eyes come spiritual vision. Spiritual vision is really the ability to see spiritually or the ability to see into the spiritual realm. Spiritual vision is what you see when your natural eyes are closed.
It is said in the Bible that in the last days, “young men shall see visions and old men shall see dreams” (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:17). In other words, God is going to open peoples’ eyes and they are going to be able to see things that they have never seen before. These end-time dreams and visions are going to be vital, lifesaving or needed for life.
We see several examples of this in the Bible. Read up and speed up! In other words, get up to speed to what God is doing in the earth. Develop a sense of what He is going to be doing in the near future (Gen. 41:25, 28).
For one, He is going to be continually saving the lives of people, both young and old. Who knows? The life God uses you to save may be your own!!!
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS
- What would your life be like, if you were totally or partially blind?
- Have you ever had a dream or vision that was from God? If so, how did you know it was from God?
- Read Genesis 41:14-36 NLT. How did Joseph know what the two dreams meant? What would have happened, if God had not given these two dreams to Pharaoh? What would have happened if Pharaoh had not listened to Joseph’s interpretation of the dreams? Who would have been impacted?
- Can you think of some other biblical example where God gave a dream or a vision that was lifesaving? If so, please share.
